Influence of Tree Size on Transplant Establishment and Growth

For those who have concerns regarding the size of the trees to be planted on Main St., here is interesting research regarding the growth rate of transplanted trees as it relates to the tree size. The tree sizes used in this study are not necessarily the size that the DOT will be planting in East Aurora, but it does show that over time smaller trees will catch up, and perhaps more interesting that the larger trees don't show much growth over the same period.
